Our Story ...
Rydals Meadow began as all weddings should, with an engagement. After attending many weddings in the rural community held in beautiful marquees on the farms of friends and their families, we knew that this was the kind of wedding that we wanted for ourselves. To be amongst nature, with space for games and fun, as well as the option to make our wedding reflect our personalities and tailor the event to us.
Luckily for us Angus is a farmer who had recently, with his dad Daniel, purchased their first farm after generations of renting and contract farming. Having this permanent space gave us an idea, it seemed such a shame to build a place to hold our wedding for just one weekend. Maybe other people would want a space similar for their wedding but don't have access to their own piece of the countryside to celebrate their special occasions.
We decided to jump in, and rather than hire a marquee we would buy one of our own and put in infrastructure for more than just one wedding. We didn't have to wait long, as our recently engaged friends Anthony and Shannon asked if they could be the first wedding.
After one of the wettest winters and springs on record, we hosted our first event in 2024 and the venue is now open for business.
